Our teachers

All teachers at Lord Byron College are native speakers or completely bilingual, with degrees and/or special qualification in teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL), often with many years of experience.

Our teachers are selected carefully on the basis of their communicative skills and for their high standards of teaching. A  number of our teachers also hold advanced teaching qualifications such as TESOL Licentiate Diploma from Trinity College London and the DELTA certification from Cambridge Assessment English.

Lord Byron College is:

  1. Authorised Exam Centre for Cambridge Assessment English—Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET Key English Test, PET Preliminary English Test, FCE First Certificate, CAE Advanced, CPE Proficiency, DELTA, the advanced qualification for teachers of English as a foreign language;
  2. Official Test Centre for the IELTS paper based e computer delivered examinations;
  3. Authorised TOEFL Testing Centre.

Tailor-Made courses

Our method

Our English courses build a practical spoken and written knowledge of English on all levels. From their very first lesson, our students learn to use English in the main communicative areas and in a wide variety of situations, by means of modern audio-oral techniques, perfecting communication, analysis and interpretation of written texts and real life material. Working closely with our team of course coordinators, experts in TEFL, our Academic Manager oversees the lessons and the performance in class of our teachers. At regular intervals throughout the course, with the assistance of our course coordinators, our teachers can evaluate and report on the progress of each individual student.

Lord Byron College is the only language school in South Italy recognised as a full member of EAQUALS (Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality in Language Services), an international association of public and private institutions dedicated to promoting and maintaining the highest quality standards in professional training.

Authorisation
Authorised by the Italian Board of Education for our  premises in Via Sparano 102, Bari (authorisation from the Italian Board of Education, Cultural Exchange Offices, prot. n. 3570/41-2 of 22/06/1980 in accordance with the law of 30/10/1940 n. 1636) and in Via Principe Amedeo 61, Bari (authorisation from the Italian Board of Education, Cultural Exchange Offices, prot. n. 5673 of 05/12/1980 in accordance with the law of 30/10/1940 n. 1636).
